Air Plant Care Basics:
- As the name implies, your plant needs air! Make sure that it’s not sealed up in a closed container so that fresh air can circulate freely around the plant.
- Air plants prefer bright, indirect light.
- Since they don’t grow in soil, air plants need to absorb moisture through their leaves. Misting regularly helps maintain the moisture and humidity they like, but a weekly soak is preferred. Simply fill a bowl with water and soak your plants for about an hour each week. In the winter, you can soak them every 2-3 weeks.
- After an hour, take the plant out and give it a good shake upside down to remove any water pooling inside the leaves. Put the plant back in place and just enjoy its beauty for another 1-3 weeks before it needs another bath. This step is very important! If you don't allow the water to come out of the crevices, the plant could rot.
