Waldsteinia ternata is a mat-forming evergreen plant with light green toothed foliage that turns bronze in winter. Displays yellow flowers which form non-fleshy, ornamental fruit. Deer resistant.

Thrives in any type of soil but not too dry. Barren Strawberry is often used as a groundcover and is also useful for erosion control. Excellent for edging and rock gardens.
